Pomeranian meetings with “diaporama” – a competition already organized for the 44th time by the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes – each successive year attracting works from all over the world. This is the only international event of this type in Poland which, for tens of years, has been held under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art and Photoclub RP.
“Diaporama” is a digital track whose borders are placed between sound photo show and film. The picture carrier are single photos which overlap with the next ones thus creating the third, only momentary picture. It is allowed to use film elements as long as the right proportions are preserved (casts). The composition of single photos is constructed on the basis of the script. The project dynamics – the way pictures overlap – creates an integral whole with the soundtrack. In analogue “diaporama” the carrier of the picture were the slides overlapping on a single picture field. However “diaporama” has gone through a number of technological changes – from sound slides to digital works. Contemporary “diaporama” art successfully meets the challenges of computerized world.
I had the pleasure of designing a poster, marketing materials and a publication of the winners of the 44th Pomeranian Diaporama Meetings, as well as a poster of the future 45th edition of this event.
